“I have to go,” Maggie replied simply. She didn’t want to be standing in front of Elijah anymore. If she had it her way she would have ever seen him at all but she did and she said what she needed to say, so she figured now was a great time to just go.
Elijah looked down as she began to walk away “I’m sorry” he said softly as he watched her walk away not bothering to move but it was loud enough for her to hear him. “I know it makes up for nothing” he said looking up at her. “But there it is” he added turning his back on her and turning to walk away himself.
“I do hate you Elijah,” Maggie said as she looked up at him, “I trusted you with my life and you failed me and you probably knew from the beginning that you wouldn’t do a damn thing. But I was stupid enough to believe what you said because I thought you loved me. Because I thought you were a man of your word.”
Elijah looked down and nodded it felt strange to hear the words come out of her mouth like he didn’t believe them just yet but he knew they were true he would feel the same if it were the other way around at least he thought he would. “I do..” he said softly as he kept his eyes away from him. “But I shouldn’t have made a promise I couldn’t keep” he said bitterly. “I should have known that this wouldn’t be different” he added looking up at her. “You were right, everyone was right I will never be able to kill my brother” he said running a hand through his hair. “And it’s about time I accept that.
Elijah was quiet and quite still for a few seconds before using his vampire speed to cut in front of her “That’s all?” he questioned as she searched her eyes “Have a nice eternity have you really come to feel nothing for me?” he said looking at her directly “Not even hatred?” he added shaking his head “Somehow I don’t believe that” he added quietly as he took a step forward s d towards her.He looked down as she spoke, he couldn’t bear to hear her speak to him like that but he knew he deserved it so he wouldn’t do much about it. “A part of me wishes she did” he admitted softly as he looked away from her “But she didn’t I am here, and there is nothing I can do with that” he replied as she shrugged his shoulders to then look at her “You should leave, leave while you still can” he said softly “I don’t have the nerve to stand up to my brother and I will never go against him” he said firmly “No matter what I say or feel family will always come above everythig it’s a bond that cannot be broken and I must accept it” he said miserablyElijah shook his head he wasn’t suprised at the harshness of her voice and he wasn’t going to ask her for forgiveness he didn’t deserve it that ha been established but it still pained him to hear her speak to him like that so he sighed “He doesn’t know I’m alive” he said shrugging his shoulders to then take in a breath “Technically I’m supposed to be lying a coffin” he said softly “rotting for the rest of eternity but..” he sighed “Adara” he said simply knowing that she’d piece things together from there.
“She should have left you in there. It’s not like you’re much help.” Maggie knew what she was saying was harsh but she didn’t care. Elijah promised her something and then he went back on his word. How was she supposed to forgive that? How did she just brush that off when his decision cost her her life?
“I should have never come here for you,” Maggie said with a shake of her head. “Have a nice eternity Elijah because I’m never going to see you again.” She said nothing else as she turned to walk away from him. Sure it was hard to walk away from Elijah knowing it would be forever but what else was Maggie supposed to do?

Elijah kept his eyes down but thry grew wide once he heard her, his mind still in shock his heart full of guilt he was shocked so he didn’t dare look up a least not right away but he finally gathered the strength to do so and he was quiet once again as he watched her fighting every urge to just hug her, to hold her. “No..” he said quietly still keeping his eyes away from her although in a way he got to see his sister again as bitter as that reunion was that counted for something right? “I didn’t” he completed under his breath once again keeping his eyes away from her “You’re dead” he said quietly as he let out a breath “I’m just you’re dead” he reapeted again trying to convince himself that she wasn’t really there.Elijah took one more deep breath before he turned around once more and his face fell once again, why wouldn’t she dissappear and let him be? Was he cursed to live like this forever? Maybe he should just drag the knife back into himself anything would be better than to live with the guilt and soon enough he found himself breaking down not being able to keep his composure he plopped back down into his seat and felt his eyes begin to tear “Maggie..” he whispered softly as she looked up and straight at the woman, who seemed to be moving away from him which in. Way he was thankful for because living with the guilt had just become too much, he could live with knowing he betrayed Elena that he failed Adara but this? Knowing that he failed her? That was too much and he probably couldn’t take it. No he knew he wasn’t strong enough for this he could sense it.
Maggie should have just kept walking away but instead she found herself turning around and walking towards him. Up until now, she was pretty at peace with things but seeing him again brought back all the disappointment and pain of him just allowing Klaus to kill her. “Did you what you wanted?” Maggie asked when she was close enough.

Elijah still had his head down as he closed his eyes for a few seconds to then simply sit up and run a hand trough his hair and that’s when he spotted her, his eyes became wide as he tried to look at her in a closer fashion but then he remembered it could be Jenna after all the woman was still alive, still something about the girl seemed different, she seemed familiar and deep down he knew this was his Maggie but at the same time he figured that he was just seeing some kind of trick, something his heart truly wanted so he simply kept his eyes on the woman longer to finally get up and turn his back hoping that once he turned around she’d be gone.Elijah had been keeping to himself for the most part he wasn’t quite sure as to what it was that he was going to do yet, he couldn’t exactly waltz up to his brother and say hello and he couldn’t show up anywhere near Elena because he was sure that he’d be walking into his own grave once again. So…
Maggie had been in the park for quite some time now. She had no idea why she was back or why she was human for that matter but she didn’t care. She saw this as her second chance and she was going to take it. She looked up for a moment and that was when she saw Elijah but she didn’t dare approach him. Maggie should have walked away but she couldn’t move.

Elijah had been keeping to himself for the most part he wasn’t quite sure as to what it was that he was going to do yet, he couldn’t exactly waltz up to his brother and say hello and he couldn’t show up anywhere near Elena because he was sure that he’d be walking into his own grave once again. So here he was basically a prisoner in his own home trying to pass the days, trying his best to keep his thoughts away from Maggie but it seemed impossible he missed her, everything about her and he found himself wishing that he could have done something to protect her, that he could have been more focused on her safety rather than Elena’s and her family’s who he betrayed in the first place. He sighed as he stepped outiside deciding that being out this late wouldn’t cause him any trouble he sat down on the park bench and hid his face in his hands trying to keep thoughts out of his head and maybe have some peace at least for a few minutes.
